Cristianismo punk

¿Es Jay Bakker el futuro del cristianismo? Bueno, quizás es uno de sus futuros posibles, reporta The Observer. Este joven de 29 años, con tatuajes, piercing en la ceja y aretes no es el predicador común y corriente, primero por su imagen y segundo por su forma de hacerlo, ya que no espera a los jóvenes en la iglesia, los busca en los clubes de Atlanta, Estados Unidos.

"... his audience is the lost and lonely of Little Five Points, one of Atlanta's poorest downtown neighbourhoods. 'God brings people into my faith who are drug addicts and atheists. People who might steal from me. But I have to love them through that,' Bakker said."

Además el parece no irse por los clichés cristianos usuales que recitan de memoria las jerarquías de todas las denominaciones:

"
'A lot of people think that being Christian is about not having abortions and not being gay,' Bakker tells his young audience, many of them similarly covered in ink and metal. 'That to me is pathetic and sad.' "

Interesante, por decir lo menos...
